I NEVER NEVER was able to start her without the ignition Button. Except at a Speed of 30 Kmh. But if you are left with a weak Battery (which can happen easily) you need it to open the decompression function of the Savage.
For that reason I removed the security switch wich is assembled under the clutch lever. So when ever she is dying and i got a little speed left (happens quite often because of low idle for a metallic white pipe) I use the ignition button and the clutch in order to preserve the clutch.
Whenever somone tells me that he started a Savage by rolling and clutching, without using a little electricity, I must say he lies!!!
